"We had a wonderful time in Skalion. The hotel is closeby to blue mosque and Aya sophia and food market and grand bazar ( evthng under 2 km if u know the short cut). The turkish breakfast was adequate with variety of dishes. The front guy Mehmat was always very helpful and friendly and kitchen staff was good as well. Few comments: The so called juice which is like a syrup in breakfast must be replaced by orange juice which is sold for 1 euro in the breakfast. It is always good to book the taxi from hotel for airport transport but that was overcharged by hotel at a price if 4o euro however the real price which transfer van charged was 25 euro.( doesnit matter if u book a car or van ). Overall we were very happy with the stay with jist 2 recommendations as pointed up."

"In general it would be good having a hotel on the other side of the Galata bridge, but on the other side that area I guess is very loud. The Double Tree is not located in the middle of all the hotspots but the tram station is just across the road and with this tram you can reach all sights and hotspots convenient and cheap (unfortunately the tram is not working too long in the nighttime). Taking the tram station into the consideration the location is perfect. The Hotel itself is a new and modern stylish design Hotel as you can expect from the Hilton group - absolute good standards in room design, lobby design and others - absolutely nothing to pick on. We strongly recommend to include the breakfast, the buffet is absolutely top - you can get everything you want to get, I cant imagine whats missing there, just the guys with the coffee could be a bit faster in service. The staff at the front desk was very friendly and quite good in English - they helped us a lot with reservations for restaurants and other infos (they had no easy task with us) - but dont count on them with explanations how you can find the restaurants - better to bring your own map. All we can say that all was good in that hotel and we can strongly recommend it for some days of expierience in Istanbul."

"Stayed for four nights. The hotel is situated in the old part of town, very close to public transport (100m) two side streets away from the main road. Typical small city hotel with clean rooms, although I had a leak in the shower which they tried to fix but without success.. Housekeeping came in the room twice without knocking while the don't disturb light was on. But overall the staff was nice and tried their best. The hotel offers some tours which are of reasonable price and well organised. Fitness and spa were not open when I was there, they said they just re opened the hotel and some facilities were not yet ready. Good place if you want to be close to main attractions like grand bazaar, sultanachmet square, blue mosque, topkapi etc. but not if you're looking to un haste yourself in the hotel after a day in the city. The rooms are also not so well isolated so sometimes quite noisy. "

"We had a great 4- night stay at the Hotel Beyaz Saray. It was very easy for the taxi driver to find as it is located on the main street traversing the Beyazit and Sultanahmet areas. The tram station is almost right in front of the hotel, giving great access to all the major sights as well as shopping areas. Lots of restaurants in the area, but a bit pricey. Small convenience store right next door, as well as a couple of well known clothing stores. The buffet breakfast was delightful, offering a wide variety of cheeses and cold cuts, breads, cereal, fruit, yogurt, honey, as well as a couple of hot dishes that changed daily. Would have been nice though if they served real Turkish coffee instead of the vending machine variety. We had lunch at the Vista Restaurant on our last day, and were absolutely delighted with the quality of the food and service. We were the only customers there, and it was nice to have a leisurely meal in a quiet, peaceful setting for a change. Our second floor room looked out on the main street and had a great view of the Beyazit Mosque. Our room was starting to show its age, but Housekeeping did a good job cleaning the room daily. The mini bar fridge is big enough to hold 4 liter-sized bottles of drinks plus several soda cans. Beds were comfortable enough, but consisted of two single beds pushed together rather than one king-sized bed. The air conditioning was weak, but since it was cold outside, we just resorted to opening the glass door facing the street. Only downside is all the noise that comes in also. The only difficulty we had was a bit of confusion about the hotel layout on our first day, as there are two entrances, on perpendicular streets, and the entrance located on Yeniceriler Caddesi (the main street) is the hotel's coffee and bakeshop. From there you take an elevator down a flight to find the hotel reception desk. The more direct entrance to the hotel lobby is on the smaller street perpendicular to Yeniceriler. Would stay again."
