Borneo Beach Villas offers a great getaway from KK with beautiful views, clean and well stocked villas and very friendly and helpful staff. We have stayed a couple of times, just as a couple and with our children and enjoyed both. The beachside villas come highly recommended as you can listen to (and look at) the waves for hours, even overnight if it isn't too hot. The little private pools are great fun for a dip, with the option of using the public pool as well. We also hired a BBQ pit for RM60 (Charcoal is RM30 but we brought our own). Tip: contact in advance about check in time as they will accommodate earlier if they can and also ask for late check out, you usually get an hour for free, if you want longer and it is available, the rates are good. Overall a fantastic stay and would come back over and over.

I already stay here twice, loving it and definitely will repeat the retreat! First i travel with family and parents. We booked a pool villa with 2 bedroom. It was comfortable and definitely worth every penny. There are 2 type of different depth pool by the villa, so if you are travelling with children, they can swim in the small one. Bbq is available if you stay at the villa with rental. The next one i travel with husband and children and we book the suite. Also good and very much spacious and kitchen is also available. Food is just ordinary for me, but thats not a problem. You cant play and swim by the beach, as the tides and waves are huge and they already build a barrier. Staff are excellent, and polite.

Personal thoughts: This is a place for relaxation and spa with perfect sunset & sea view in budget. 5 nights is never enough. Will return soon. If you have a big group of family, get the pool villa. If you're a couple, you may get the apartment offer. This villa is indeed a peace and quiet place; a perfect quick getaway from the city life. There's a spa wellness here too. Room: There's a kitchen, 2 bathrooms, bedroom, livingroom and a balcony. Utensils are provided to cook your own food (eg instant noodle). There's a restaurant (BBV Cafe) and you can grab food as well. In the bathroom, there is a jacuzzi in a tub and a sauna in the shower. Imagine... Everyday is a spa day 😬. Bring your bathbomb, bath foam essentials, aromatherapy candles and facial stuff. Trust me, ladies. It's a perfect getaway for us. Beach: The beach is clean and clear water, but the sea is rough. There's no lifeguard so swim at your own risk. The sea is usually calm in the morning (sunny day) though. For those who wants to swim, you have to wait until 3.45pm for low tides. There's stairs on each sections to go down to the beach. On low tides, there will be a small lagoon (by the stairs), you can see small fishes and crabs. And for swimmers who wanted to swim in the sea, you don't have to worry about rocks. There isn't any. Btw, I managed to hunt 2 huge sea clams and cooked it with my instant noodles. Activities: there is a bicycle rental (i didn't check the price). I believe there's a fishing activity too (bring your own fishing rod). If you walk to the end, you will meet estuaries, where the river meets the sea. There spa wellness and massages (Mon to Sun, except Tues). Oh, and don't forget about their photo competition! I decided to find a nice getaway stay from the hustle and bustle of the city but didn't want to go too far and found Karamunsing which is about 40mins drive away from main city KK and the compound itself was huge. Big room, had one bedroom with the twin beds(the ad only posts King sized bed but you can request upon booking). Had a balcony and a window in the bedroom. Theres a countertop on the small kitchen area with big fridge and stove and microwave and a few cutlery utensils with 4 stools by the countertop. Living area was spacious. And here's the great part; it has 2 bathrooms. One next to the entrance, soo big and clean, also a shower in it prepped with 2 towels. Yes clean. Then there's another one in the bedroom with 4 towels, a sauna room with shower in it, 2 sinks, a bathtub with jacuzzi all fully functional. There is a big swimming pool outside in the center of the three apartments. Just a few feet away is the beach itself and on a sunny day I tell you the view is spectacular. Now the downside. The place itself has aged and you can smell it and see it. Water pressure is not so good either but it is livable, no stress. Plus they prepared 2 clean water tubs just incase. Channels on the TV is limited and there is no WiFi except for the Villa Lobby (the office building/villa). But you can rent the WiFi, so don't worry. I advise to contact the staff to do a pre-cleaning before checking in, that helps. All in all it's a great stay. For the price what more do you need. Private place. Facilities are enough. Its huge. Spectacular views. Very very helpful and friendly staff. Oh, the cafe opens 24 hours, you can't beat that. They're room service is fast like I ordered supper and due to lack of kitchen staff they told me to wait about 30mins if possible because of an in-house dining at the cafe but lo and behold about 11 or 12 minutes later our food was delivered piping hot(delicious by the way). Give it a try, worth the while of having an escape. Want more space go for their villas. Saw a lot of guests in the villas whilst walking along the beach and they had a great time. So did we. The calm breathtaking view of the surrounding forest and mountain, u just cant get enough! Our room was facing the sea and swimming pool.. really love the view! It was so peaceful. Also, What i love was we get to watched the HORNBILL Bird in Pair in the wild ! every morning sitting on the balcony/branches.. It was my first time to see hornbill in the wild up close.. Hornbill is rare bird that only Borneo has it. I even get to see them kissing. ✨🌷 The room was clean, I love the bathroom that has bathtub and lil sauna in the shower room.. I will sure to stay again and longer there for my honeymoon.. Thanks Borneo beach villa and agoda.
