As soon as I walked in I was greeted by the lovely white cat, which I stroked, incidentally the best host in the place. I checked in with Mr Seyf, yes the handsome chap with the long hair. Immediately I received a free upgrade plus a towel and was escorted to my room by him. He was very polite and welcoming with a big smile. I have to say at this point without Mr. Seyf, I refer to him as 'the sword' or 'tea man' this place will be no where. Mr Seyf deserves to be running this place and promoted to the highest position. He just made me happy looking at him, he seems to be the heart of this place with a very peaceful and positive demeaner. Other members of staff were good but not smiling as much and not easy to approach. I would suggest they smile more :) During my stay I noticed after a few days eggs were available but we had to ask for an egg during breakfast until the operations manager from Madrid in Spain came in to replace the chef and started cooking. He was very approachable and provided a good service. He did undercook the eggs first day which he acknowledged the second day and cooked eggs and left for everyone to take rather than asking so that was a good move. The breakfast overall is very good everyday except for one day where the cake ran out at 10am which was disappointing as i really liked the cake with chocolate. The new chef from Madrid was clear and said its finished so that was cool. The facilities in the room including blankets and pillows, private shower, toilet and 2 sinks were clean and the cleaners did a very good job in my shared room of 4. Upstairs there is a roof top terrace which boasts lovely views of Istanbul during the day and night. A Finnish chap became my friend during our stay together in the same room. He also rated the place highly. There was a Canadian lady who works in tourism mentioned lots of staff have been fired and they could be running the hostel better as their only renting it. On the contrary my experience was great and the staff members and cleaners I met were and are doing a great job. Their is sim cards available from reception for tourists and a shop directly opposite for food and drink. There is many shops and restaurants nearby and very close to city as in walking distance. The location is perfect for everything you need. A german lady was trying to checkin at night and thought i was a staff member but i told her i will try and find staff for her as the staff member was smoking outside at night but she got checked in. Its a very relaxed place and everyone is down to earth and always happy to help should you have any queries or questions. As my first hostel experience I would say this place is very good value for money! Big shout out to Turkey, Jordan, Ecuador, Canada, Spain and Finland :)

I liked the hostel I would recommend it I only put low score on the staff and facilities, because when I arrived the man who did the check in , a tall guy with short hair, I asked him if he please had a charger 🔌 and if not, charge my cell phone in the place where he is working and he didn't refuse (having the charger there) he even told me: buy an adapter! And he turned his face away. Really very rude in the way he expresses himself. The next day at the reception there was another guy who was very kind at all times and even called the terrace staff so they could lend me a charger, he did everything possible to help me or give me a solution. I don't remember its name was very good! The breakfast is decent for the price per night and overall clean place. Cool.

Enjoyed a week-long stay here. Pros: - Super clean for a hostel - Very helpful staff and front desk - Drinking water available 24/7 - Quiet location but still central - Comfortable bunk beds in shared dorms - Laundry available - Whatsapp group for travelers + almost daily events to meet people; really enjoyed this! - Digital lockers in room Cons: - WiFi speed was about 75% reliable, not too fast (about 15-20 MBPs if I remember correctly) - Limited working space for digital nomads. The bottom floor has room for 4 people to work, and the terrace is large but not suitable (poorest WiFi in the building, strong smoke from the smoking area, and late night events) - No room to keep luggage inside the dorms; there is a camera-operated area in the main lobby but can get cumbersome if you're traveling with even 1 check-in bag. Overall, I would recommend this hostel! It was well worth the money I paid for it.

It’s a typical bustling hostel, all seemingly new and well-designed from a meta level so it has all the amenities, including female-only dorms which for me are absolutely crucial. The breakfast is not at all like the picture, but it suffices. They have a top floor bar and working area but it’s often too hot to sit in at peak sun hours. Ages of guests vary, which is nice, and there were tons of Americans during my stay. Unfortunately the rooms and beds can just be really cramped, which makes them uncomfortable for sleeping and hard to breathe in properly at night. Even with the AC on they get hot and stuffy with everything crammed in. Of course you can open the doors to outside but then it’s super loud, especially at night, partially due to the fun night life of the hostel. I didn’t sleep well here at all so it kind of defeats the purpose. Still, it’s good in an absolute pinch and of course good for socializing.

The staff are very accommodating and helpful. They offered to change my room twice. Talha, Zehra and Ozan are very helpful and friendly. I don’t know the quiet ones’ names but they’re also very helpful to guests’ requests and always try to solve our problems. One thing’s for sure the staff here works really, really hard for your comfort. If you’re the boss, please give them a raise. They deserve it! No, they did not hold me hostage for this review. They’re truly the best! If you’re here and you complained about the noise because you couldn’t sleep, please go be a buzzkill somewhere else. Don’t come here trying to colonise the vibe. This ain’t a monastery. Cleanliness? Chef’s kiss. The team here could clean a crime scene with their eyes closed. If things are dirty, it’s not the staff, some people are clearly raised by wild pigs. Also, Cantine, the cafe right opposite the hostel? Cool, hipster vibes. The crew are so nice they’ll make you feel bad for ever going to Starbucks. I stayed for two weeks and honestly had a blast. Made a lot of friends here. Great vibes, cool people, good coffee, and zero regrets. So come here if you’re cool, stay away if you’re only here to drool. - nari P.S. send my love to Cantine Crew!
