Homy Seafront Hostel The Homy Seafront Hostel just can’t erase from my mind, and I always remember this name for the best hostel in KK. I have stayed for a few days just for a short vacation at this hostel. Stepping through the lobby, I was immediately struck by the beautiful and friendly reception area. Light, airy, and very spacious...very welcoming atmosphere. The staff – Jenny (very commendable customer service) of the hostel was very professional, friendly, and extremely helpful. Jenny always greets and smiles at the guests. The breakfast was amazing; it was filling. The location of the hostel is great. The room was very nice, clean, and well equipped with all essentials and a fantastic view. THE VIEW from the room was AMAZING! I have no hesitation in recommending this hostel to the tourists who want to go to KK. I already recommended this to friends and family. Will be back to this place soon; I just can’t wait. Friendly, accommodating staff, willing to help with a smile, that is Jenny and the other guy that works from 6am to 4pm. Facilities, shower room were clean and nice-looking. Jenny was always available to help and to serve us with information on the best restaurant and scenic places in KK, she was very helpful and polite. Jenny has impeccable service and hospitality as one of your staff. This made my vacation most enjoyable. I was very impressed by the responsiveness of Jenny whenever I asked questions or assistance. What is most commendable is that numerous requests were all but acceded. I think I will definitely give five stars to this hotel. Actually I'd booked in a hurry, but it really gave me a big surprise. Especially the friendly staffs, all of them are very nice. And I would like to say that Cindy is one of the most friendly and helpful staff that I've ever met. She taught me how to exchange cash and how to sign up a trip and answered all my questions... I was so impressed by her efforts and kindness. She even sent me mooncake and a local souvenir on the last day I was there, so sweet 😭中国人的话可以直接联系Cindy，她的中文很流利，可以无障碍交流。 The location of this hotel is also very good and the female dormitory is also very clean. If you are a sleeper,would recommond u wear earplugs, but all of the other good services dwarfed this point. This place is very beautifully maintained by owner. Very very clean, very homely environment. I would say it’s cheap as well. If you’re introvert, you can take the private rooms, and if you’re extrovert, you can take the bunk beds. I took the private room. The size was just enough. Has aircond, a mirror and the bed was comfortable just like in hotels. They do provide towels. There was shower gel in the bathroom. You may need to bring other toiletries. There is a hair dryer, and iron as well. They have lounge space which is very huge and has everything you need. The kitchen has a fridge, microwave as well. Sharing bathroom is clean, mostly kept dry as well. For breakfast they provide bread with different spreads, cereals with milk and coffee and tea. There is water dispenser at every floor. They are very accommodating. I had a flight at 3pm. I checked out at 12pm, but was allowed to stay at lounge area while waiting to go to airport. Check in and check out is very quick, no deposits needed. Location is strategic, infront of waterfront area. You might have abit difficulty to find parking as they don’t have private parking. You have to find public parkings around. Overall, I’m definitely booking another trip to KK to stay here again. 🩷

When we booked a *hostel*, we did not expect such a great place at all. The view, the staff, the facilities, everything is great here. Situated right in the middle of the Kota Kinabalu city, you can go to the markets, restaurants, street food stores, clubs and pubs, vape shops, etc. Everything is at just a walking distance. The place is so clean, and the staff is working hard to keep it as it is. The owner is super friendly too. He did contact us before our visit and helped us plan our trip. He even contacted a tour guide and helped us to have a one-day visit to the Poring Hot Springs. He was really helpful. There are many facilities you can use, the common lobby where you have TVs, all-day-available breakfast (yes, you read it right), Tea, Coffee, snacks, everything. (Ah yes, except for Sugar. If you need sugar in your tea/coffee, you have to bring it; other than that everything). We loved the place. Only drawback was the headspace in the bed. For a reason I cannot understand, there was this big protruding block above the bed, so there's a chance you would bang your head on it. But you'll get used to it in a day or two :D I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Kota Kinabalu.
