We chose this hotel for its location and it is indeed prime being so well situated for all of the main attractions within this area of this vast city. Whether or not you seek to relax or pound the streets in search of hidden and unhidden gems, shop or other, this provides the perfect base from which to explore then to return to for a relaxing unwind in the spa located below the ground floor level - be ready for a cold dip (22c) following sauna, steam, harem and treatments its a shock but worth it. The hotel staff were helpful and friendly the entrance, lobby and overall facilities are clean and well presented, the rooms large and comfortable (we had a deluxe room overlooking the main street in front of the hotel) albeit a little 'tired' in terms of decor it was still very comfortable with a huge bed, bring hairdryer if needed as the old wall attached versions will do little to dry ladies. It can be a little noisy at night time if you have the window open as expected facing the main street and also early in the morning the hustle and bustle begins along with the call to prayer circa 6am. This all though for us adds to the authenticity of why you are there to experience life in this great city. The hotel has excellent roof top restaurants offering superb views and fine cuisine. We would most definitely choose this hotel again as it really did offer great value and an excellent location. Do acquire the metro/tram Istanbul City card its great for getting around the city. So much to see, so much to enjoy again and again and lovely local people too. The Legacy Ottoman may not reach the 5 star standards most are accustomed too, more like 4 but it really is offering an excellent overall solution for your planned stay in Istanbul. Note you cant at certain times use a taxi to drop off outside the hotel due to restrictions imposed by the state in this area.

Review: Disappointing Stay Due to Room Heat Issues I recently stayed at this hotel, and unfortunately, my experience was far from pleasant. The room was unbearably hot, and despite my efforts to address the issue, nothing was done to improve the situation. The air conditioning system seemed to be centrally controlled, and even when I turned it off and opened the window to try and let in some fresh air, it made little difference. The heat in the room made it extremely uncomfortable to sleep or relax, significantly affecting the quality of my stay. When I approached the staff about this issue, their response was unhelpful. They simply said it was a central system and offered no solution or assistance, leaving me to endure the discomfort. A hotel stay should prioritize guest comfort, and this was a clear failure in that regard. I hope the management addresses this issue for the sake of future guests, but based on my experience, I cannot recommend this hotel.

The road to the hotel cannot be access by a self driven vehicle between 10am to 7pm due to council restrictions. If you are self driving and check in between these times you will need to park the car in a car park near the tram station and walk to the hotel or wait until 7pm this was not mentioned on the website. Also in winter they only run the aircon in heat mode and the solution if to turn the aircon off if it’s too hot. For us even turning it off did not work it was still too hot. I do believe it’s up to the guest to control the mode of the aircon to what they want inside the room. Other than the above it’s a beautiful hotel with a lot of history and very close to all the key attractions and excellent access to public transport with few minutes walk.

This will be my go to hotel from now on, the location is fantastic. Reception staff are not helpful otherwise housekeeping staff are very polite and helpful. Washrooms needs a little renovation but the staff do wonderful job in cleaning

Breakfast was not great for €22 per person! The hotel is in the best location! You could t ask for better! The atrium is very dark and not very cosy or welcoming! The staff are great, very helpful and kind! Also if you plan to rent a car please note the hotel hasn’t got free parking! They charge €15 per day and they drive your car off site somewhere so you will have to leave your keys with them! Also the bathroom in the room would have been great if it wasn’t for the non stop shower water that was filling up the whole floor of the bathroom, making the bath mate and your slippers swim!
