Few guests mentioned limited breakfast options & poor quality of food. Some noise from outside was audible inside non-soundproofed and not well-maintained rooms.

Has a very grand entrance and nice views from the restaurants, that's about it. Rooms are extreamly hot to sleep in and that's just in March, would hate to be here when it's hot outside, fans do nothing but push around heat. The rooms get cleaned but you only need to lift up something, run a finger across or simply look under the bed to see how it's not cleaned properly (full bottles of water, tissues, hairs and lots of personal papers under our bed, drop a headphone under, and stored bag on top wardrobe to come across all the filth. Reception are friendly when they know your staying, get the impression and vibe it's only once they realise you have some money, have popped in before staying and felt unwelcomed. The services I never used, simply they are overpriced for Turkey against the reviews when just outside the hotel, went elsewhere and had no regrets. Do have to warn though, Turkey is renowned for scamming tourists for as much money as possible and bad hospitality service, So istanbul is exceptional at doing this and herrasing you👌. If your happy to pay more than you would at home in a country that is often much less, then you will be fine. The area this hotel is located in is probably the safest and nicest tourist spot In istanbul close enough to walk to most other regions on foot or metro, this hotel definetly makes you feel secure. Not quite sure i would say it was 4-5 stars although it definetly has the social stigma for it so if your a vibrant social butterfly, not the hotel for you. Parking via hotel is 30€ a day, there's plenty free street spaces nearby or use a car park 200m away, motorbike access easier than cars. Overall experience 6/10 Against Other Local Hotels 7/10

I stayed with my family for two days with them and I must say that this is by far the best hotels I have ever stayed in. It's luxurious, clean, perfect location, excellent breakfast, spacious rooms , and what not I must commend here the efforts of Mr Nadeem and Mr Saif from guest relations who went out of their way to take care of our needs and made sure our stay was comfortable!

AGODA should do a better job to reserve a better room for its customers. Our room 128 was on top of the reception and thus the ceiling lamp reflected inside. The fixed glass of the shower was too short and after a shower, the bathroom floor was flooded. No closet and due to the tight space the armoir's doors could not be open completely. The night table was too short to plug it from the bed's headboard. Luckly we requested an extension cord to plug the lamp and charge the cell phone. So, AGODA should do a better job to reserve a better room for its customers. Years ago we stayed there with Gate 1 Travel and got exclellent rooms. Staff was friendly and helpful, breakfast had lots of variety and excellent location.

This was a great place to stay for our weekend in Istanbul. The hotel takes you back in time, but is beautiful, classy and comfortable. Although we didn't use the amenities, they looked great (spa, gym and rooftop bar & restaurant). Best of all was the location with the Grand Bazaar & Hagia Sophia within 5-8 blocks in one direction and Galata Tower and Pera Palace about 1.5 km in the other direction.

“Customer relations manager Negar made it worthwhile despite being an outdated hotel”
When we initially arrived, we had a host of problems, mainly related to uncomfortable heating like a sauna and misleading air conditioning situation that others also point out, as well as rude customer service but the duty receptionist and bell-boy when being checked in at 2am in the morning (the last thing you need for a comfortable stay for a supposed 5 star hotel). They were allegedly unable to source a fan at 2am in the morning - citing that this is normal temperature for this time of year, but they were unable to source a fan (very strange for a 5 star hotel and contradictory as this would imply all the guests are finding it too hot). Given the behaviour we received, we were looking to cancel our booking and move to a more accurate 5 star hotel experience than this. Upon raising our concerns with the customer relations manager *** and operations manager ***, they totally changed this experience and did everything they could to make our stay comfortable, enjoyable, and checked in with us regularly to ensure all amenities were running smoothly. They were polite, apologetic and took accountability for this. A total stark contrast to the initial service. This hotel is evidently running off its employees to ensure its success, and poor customer service can ruin the entire experience (some staff seem oblivious to this). *** is clearly an asset to the hotel and made this stay suitable for us. She is the reason why we continued to stay at the property and provides a very polite, approachable and subservient relations manager and should be commended for this. The location is useful, and the breakfast has a nice variety, although sometimes on the cold side. The lobby design is suave and spacious. The rooms could benefit with updating as the carpets / walls / beds are often outdated / damaged.
