North (Embassies Area) hotels & places to stay

I stayed in this hotel for 1.5 nights as my usual choice in Bogota (Casa Real) had jacked up their rates for some reason and I found it was no longer in any relation to their offering. I chose this hotel, because I wanted to stay around Parque 93 and this hotel offered an acceptable rate. The hotel is new and the lobby reminds you of a modern botique hotel. The staff is nice, but when I checked into my room I immediately started missing the big rooms in Casa Real. The interior of the room was quite creative, but not very user-friendly. First of all there was no space to store and open a large suitcase. I finally ended up having it under the desk, which was not good, cause I had to work on it. The open bathroom looks interesting, but once again is very uncomfortable to use. The sink is designed in a way that once you open the water a bit more you end up splashing it all over yourself. You enter the shower (which is a bathtub) over a large step placed in front of the tub. This could prove to be quite dangerous once it gets wet. The room does come with free wireless and a safe, which is good for me as a business traveler. The breakfast is a la carte and although I didn't pay extra I noticed that I do prefer buffets. The check-out process was a bit painful. There is only one desk with one computer. When I left, the system was on strike and it took quite a while to check-out. At the same time there were 4 other parties waiting to check-in. They didn't look too happy. For my short stay it was an interesting alternative, but I don't think I will be back anytime soon. I rather look for some other alternatives instead.

I stayed at the Hotel Morrison 84 with some friends for a weekend trip-- it was an excellent decision to stay there! We arranged airport transfer before arrival and it worked seamlessly. The driver was ready and waiting in a new and clean car. The driver assisted with our bags and took us directly to the hotel. Check-in was fast and efficient. I stayed in a single room with a queen size bed. Everything was new and clean and in good working order. The location of the hotel is absolutely fantastic--it's very close to many restaurants and bars as well as shopping! Breakfast was included with the room and was good-- the cappuccino was fantastic! During our stay it was very easy to arrange transportation for the day with the front desk. Also, whenever I had a question they were prompt and knowledgeable. If I go back to Bogota, I would stay at this hotel again.

The staff was accommodating enough, however check-in and check-out took far too long. The breakfast was truly memorable with some of the best and sweetest fruit I have had at a hotel. The facilities are OK, but no pool. The room a junior suite was enormous with a comfortable bed and nice bathroom with a tub. The room was clean, however I did sense that the builders had scrimped on fixtures because the materials used in its construction, i.e. flooring, trim, bathroom hand basin were done with cheap out of date materials. For example the border plate between the bedroom and bathroom was loose and not properly fitted. Another small inconvenience was that towels, sundries were set for only one individual rather than the two staying in the room. Considering the late hour we made do with one towel for two people. The location can be a good thing if you want to head to points North in a good part of Bogota, however as it is located over a major thoroughfare quite a bit of road noise can filter into the rooms, perhaps better sound proofing is in order. The value to cost ratio is excellent and cannot fault the hotel staff who were at all times professional with good English language skills. I feel that if it had a pool it would justify its 4 star rating.

When I booked the hotel I was concerned about the location. This hotel is in the perfect location. Just a short walk to shopping and restaurants..(. 8 min) The hotel is clean. We had a business suite. I will stay here again. Balcony was nice, as I am a smoker. Good value for money. Very safe neighbourhood. Everything is walkable ( if u want) lots of taxis around and they inexpensive. I will stay here again. It is a botique hotel. There is no gym... Although we took a taxi every morning to a gym near Andino mall.. Very trendy and safe neighbourhood. Expectations were exceeded.

Once you are at the reception, you get personalized attention from very amiable staff. If there are better rooms available (then the one you've originally booked) they will offer it for you free of charge. However, there is no restaurant on-site and a rather basic breakfast is served at your room. There is Juan Valdes Coffee shop close to the hotel where you can have a great coffee and snacks.

I have stayed in Casa Real several times now and always enjoy going back there whenever I am in Bogota. What I like most about it is its great location – only one block away from Parque 93 with many bars and restaurants. It is also a very economical hotel compare to other hotels I stayed in before in Bogota, such as Dan Carlton or Holiday Inn. Another plus is the staff. Always friendly and helpful and they really make you feel welcome at any time. The rooms are very nice and spacious. I am always ending up in the same room, so I can’t speak for all rooms, but mine (203 or 303) featured a sofa/TV corner, kitchen, comfortable king-size bed and a big bathroom. Free WiFi is available throughout the hotel and the connection is quite good, although not fast enough for Skype video calls and it disconnected from time to time. The breakfast buffet is small, but has everything you need including breads, muesli, delicious fresh-cut fruit (papaya, honey melon, pineapple and watermelon), fresh fruit juice (great) as well as a live cooking station for omelettes. The breakfast room also has a sofa corner with a real fire place and a bar with TV, which is a nice place to have a discussion or business meeting or just chill in the afternoon (reading one of the many books (in multiple languages) provided on the book shelf. The hotel also features a free parking garage, which was convenient for visitors and/or guests with a car. The only negative thing I can think of – something I didn’t notice during earlier stays – is that the hotel gets a bit loud in the morning. Usually around 6AM when the breakfast is prepared/starts. This woke me up pretty much every morning (especially during my current stay in room 203), which is close to the lobby, which is adjacent to the breakfast room. Nevertheless, Casa Real has become my first choice whenever I visit Bogota. It is conveniently located between the main centers of attraction being Usaquen and Zona T

I booked a junior suite and upon arrival was told that the hotel did not have any junior suites. I was told that they owned 2 other hotels and that junior suites were only available at those hotels. They ended up refunding me the difference but the room I was given was much different that the suite i booked. The standard room was ok and the breakfast was pretty good. no restaurants or shops were within walking distance but the neighborhood was nice and safe.

It was a short weekend trip but the hotel is conveniently located to EVERYTHING in Zona Rosa, Malls, SuperMercado, Restaurants, Bars, etc... It was VERY NOISY until 4 am on Saturday but what do you expect? It's Zona Rosa with bars, restaurants, NightClubs & Discos. So if you don't want noise and party on Saturday don't go. LOL Had a wonderful time. The Bellman is terrific and an excellent source of information on places in neighborhood. We will return.

--excellent location close to embassies, restaurant area, quick check in and out. The location of the hotel are ideal for shopping and with the many restaurants in the area ideal for some gourmet visits. You can walk with no fear to all restaurant in the area. The rooms are large and well quipped. Definitely worth another stay for us when that time come. Value for money hotel.

El Dorado for me was the perfect choice. It’s in a good spot close to 93 Park. The hotel is immaculate throughout. My room was very clean and had everything I might need. Very comfortable bed. WiFi fast and stable. My only gripe was that housekeeping forgot to replace the coffee one day. I had a welcome cocktail at the bar which was great. Breakfast was also included in the rate. Excellent selection of stuff to choose from. Staff sometimes need a nudge if you want coffee but otherwise all good. Tip: There’s currently roadworks on the street where the hotel is located. It took me half an hour to move 200m during Friday evening rush hour. So if you’re arriving by cab it’s worth getting out around 93 Park and walking the last couple of minutes!

Great hotel- but not for the international hotel chain loving customer. Staff were friendly, rooms were large and airy, and the design character and attention to detail were superb. I only ate breakfast at the hotel - which was great- but can't comment on other meals. The adjacent bar had craft beer on tap and reasonable tapas. Big shopping mall across the road and 5 minute taxi ride to nice area (Usquen Park) with heaps of restaurants.

Our stay was great! the service is amazing, the pool, gym, and other shared areas are modern and comfortable. breakfast was included and delicious! rooms were nice, modern and always impecable. They gave us robes for when we went to the swimming pool, the terrace and the pool were absolutelly beautiful! the location could not be better, far enough from the clubs and noise but walking distance to all the fun! Hotel taxis and safe transportation always available. airport transfer was easy to schedule. We would definitelly go back!
