Where to stay in Istanbul
Istanbul hotels & accommodations

I stayed at executive room in Hilton Istanbul Bomonti for 4 nights. The executive lounge was great and staff was helpful, especially Alper, Bora, Emrullah and Sinem. They made my stay at Hilton perfect. I have to say this is one of my best experiences at 5 star hotels. I felt satisfied and it was really value for money. I strongly recommend you to stay at the hotel.

The location is unbeatable. It’s in a middle of the action but not in a super heavy traffic location like the old city. Taxim Square Metro is 200 meters away which is convenient. For a first timer in Istanbul like me, I usually used taxi to get to the old city in the morning and get back using metro while the traffic jam is congested in the afternoon. The doormen will ...

It is a new and good hotel! close to Mall of Istanbul and Ataturk Airport. Very friendly staff. The hotel has a shuttle bus to the Airport and Mall. If you need some to your room the hotel service make it in a minute! Just one little minus- everywhere you need to go out by a taxi, it is not a walking area.

experience being a priviliged guest of the longest operating hilton hotel outside of the americas and the first international 5 star hotel in turkey, the hilton istanbul. come and feel istanbul from the very heart of the city. featuring spacious rooms all with private balconies, lush gardens; the hotel is located in a walking or very close distance to cosmopolite taksi...

Booked this hotel after reading reviews on TripAdvisor. Located in the old town part of Istanbul, you are surrounding by any good eating places and bars, plus the usual tourist shops with their tat for sale. Very close to the main train station, which is ideal for catching the Metro train to take you under the river and to the "Asian" side of Istanbul. The Tram stop is...

300 yards to all major sites in sultanamet with 20 convenient eating places within 100 yards of the hotel. Don’t expect a slick new business hotel but do expect a real Istanbul hotel with very helpful staff at reception and at the rooftop restaurant. Rooms are clean and have modern bathrooms with toiletries provided with quality towels that were changed for day 2

We stayed for 7 nights at Wyndham Grand over two trips and absolutely loved it. There has clearly been a lot of thought put into the hotel and it really shows. The bedrooms are very homely and sumptuous with great beds and lovely soft feather pillows. The aircon is really quiet too! The family room is nice if you have one child as there is a small area with sliding doo...

We spent 5 lovely days in istanbul in this hotel. Thought the street where teh hotel is was very quiet, getting out of the hotel and walking 100m we were suddenly at the heart of istanbul close by every beatiful and important site seeing (Sultanahmet Mosque, Aya Sofia, Topkapi palace, the sistern, grand bazar); also very close to public transportation. Our room was upg...

this is an excellent small friendly hotel where everyone is helpful conveniently situated for every type of visit access to tourist spots is easy as all types of transport are conveniently available also shopping and as in our case our yearly visits to hospitals for controls. This was our first time visit to Istanbul and I am happy we chose Mirrors Hotel. They provide only rooms and the hotel does not provide any food or beverages. There are so many shops and restaurants around which are open until late night. There is Hafiz Mustafa just at the corner of this building so sweet lovers will definitely love to stay here. The staff is very frie...

Best choice if you coming for business and not willing to visit dowtown alot as it very far (50min). For families, pick this hotel if you have car only, but your family will not like long driving everyday. The hetel close from good places such as airport, istanbul mall, venisya & 212 outlet malls. I would recommend this hotel for whomever coming with low budget and h...

I got to hotel to check in, and we're told by staff at Hotel that we were moved to another Hotel (a better one) . Ended up staying at Sirkeci Mansion hotel, Nice hotel.. Staff extremely helpful. Location A1. Rooms rather small like most Hotels in Fatih and Sirkeci. Walls were paper thin like all Istanbul hotels. Breakfast was good! Rooftop patio area was superb!

I dont know why there are so many negative reviews, My stay was extremely comfortable. Many thanks to the lovely and friendly lady Aysan for assisting us. Staff speak good English (a rarity in Istanbul), are very friendly and will guide you on the best way of going to different places in Istanbul. Superb location in the heart of Sultanahmet. Extremely clean, prompt ho...

We had a fantastic experience at Naz hotel. Staff was very friendly. Gave us good guidance. Rooms were good and spacious. The gym was large ad well equipped and the hammam experience was excellent. The breakfast was very good and the staff deserve a second mention. Love to go back to Istanbul and to this hotel

I'm a regular traveller to Istanbul and always stay near the Blue Mosque. I like to choose different hotels through Agoda to try out all that Istanbul has to offer. This hotel didn't disappoint. Nice room with a view. Terrace dining with great breakfast fare. Nice Bar and restaurants close bar with Nargile after dinner. Family enjpoyed it. Manager looked after ...

We loved the location of Nippon Hotel. It is a neat, clean and hospitable place. For the first time ever, we have one of the executives walk us to the hotel room, introduce features, and made us feel so welcome. I have travelled a lot and this has never happened before! I understand Nippon hotel has been renovated and this has made the place really modern and nice. Als...

Although the hotel is listed as a five star, I see it as a regular 4*. Definitely staff should pass more training to reach the 5* level. However, it's one of the best location as walking distances to most of the attractions are possible. Close to the tram station and port as well. Breakfast is great, however for an 4* hotel if should have that 5* touch. Staff should be...

I booked this place one day (30 hrs ) befo the day I arrived. Got confirmation email from Agoda already. When I arrived in afternoon the reception told me they can’t find my booking I need to contact Agoda by myself Or Book again They are still nice enough to let me pay the same price as I paid to Agoda with new booking. Until now I still can’t contact Agoda c...

This place is the highest value of money you can ever get. A five star luxury suits with new levels of comfort and cleanliness. A very friendly staff. The perfection was however overshadowed with intermittent availability of internet. I hope thats a temporary problem during my stay only. A great place for using AtaTurk airport. You can easily access city center using u...

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The staff were very helpful in arranging me a late check out and an early check in. They were also helpful in giving me directions around the local area. The hotel has a great swimming pool and sauna, when I used it there were were no other guests so I had the place to myself. Bliss. The breakfast was also very good. Good ran...

This was my very first visit to Istanbul and I chose this hotel because of it was centrally located at Sultanahmet district or the Old City. I have booked the Junior Suite for 4D3N for 4 pax, since I was coming with my family of two adult children. Upon check in with the hotel, we were greeting by the hotel person in charge Mr. Canberk Derinpikal; a friendly guy who ...

Location was great. Plenty restaurant and market nearby. Istanbul Airport is just 7-10 min away so taxi is also cheap 15-20 Turkish LIRA but be careful some taxi driver will take you round for nothing just to make bit extra money even though u going to pay them tip anyway but they will still try to do extra miles by taking you around.Hotel staff and manager very helpfu...

It's my first time in istanbul and but the last time in my next visit for Bon hotel. Excellent hotel, excellent location! Staff is really helpful with a big smile. Feels like home! I am glad I managed to find such a wonderful hotel in a very busy city like Istanbul. Cheap places to stay in Istanbul

Single room is not big enough for my super big suitcase, but really clean and comfortable. The shared bathroom is the biggest bathroom I've ever seen during travelling.Enough space and hot water. Toilet is very clean. Owner and staff are very nice and helpful. Location is great. I really like the restaurants nearby. But there is no air conditioner in the room,so it's re...

Excellent location as it's close to Taxim Square, Istiklal St, Turkish Airlines office, Turkiye Finans ATM and bank is just across the road for those who have Citibank cards (no extra fees for atm withdrawals), and most importantly 5 minutes to the Havabus stop which can take you to all the airports and runs every 15 mins to IST airport (50 mins away in light traffic)....

Cool place. Downstairs bar to meet others and have cheap drink. Easy check in. BEST breakfast I've had on my trip so far. We had to go early and the staff said we can take anything that was out/ready for our bus trip. I made peanut butter toast and a really yummy colourful tasty salad :) They helped us with tickets too! Had a few bad experiences when out in town whils...

Arrived at 5:30am, however was unable to check in until the advertised check in time of 1pm. This was because the rooms had been so recently renovated that it was still being finished. No issue as staff allowed me to store my luggage and have a nap in their beautiful enclosed terrace - a great spot to watch the sun rise! All staff members were extremely accommodating. ...

(+) I stayed for 6 nights. Location is very near from sultanahmet tram station, where we can go around Istanbul easly. Bus stop and depart from/to New Istanbul Airport also near from this location. The staff kindly helpful. They helped us lift our luggage to our room at the 4th floor. Easy to check-in and check-out, and they keep our luggage in front desk after checki...

Amazing experience Hanchi and Istanbul as a whole Istanbul is a very welcoming city thanks to the city people and to Hanchi also Very 5 star place with free filling breakfast unlimited coffee and bread. Only tiny weakness is that it is a bit far from the Yenikapi / Aksaray subway/tram by walking maybe 20-25 minutes. Maybe can't beat this when I bought the promo at le...

This is a good place where you can stay meanwhile you visit Istanbul. It's quiet, the staff is very friendly, the shower is warm and with good pression. The bed very comfortable. Just the internet didn't work well, something the signal was week and very slow. The rest was really good. The breakfast is also good but the last day in the morning, the breakfast started 40 ...

This is the second time I stay here. One in winter and now in summer. Its location is very close to subway and any other things you will need in Istanbul. Building is an old historical one where a famous writer had lived in here. Atmosphere is still same in 1920's. So if you are a writer, musician or an artist this place might give you some inspiration. Despite of buil...

It’s initially a bit hard to find the location, but once you do you will realize how close it is to all the tourist attractions. Rauf had created a very hospitable environment and made sure that all needs were met as a tourist. I will definitely recommend this place to anyone traveling to Istanbul for a cheap and comfortable stay.

Very near from Sultan Ahmet and Blue mosk. Not newest facilities but everything is clean. And most of all, the manager saved me notifying various types of frauds in istanbul. It was very very useful. Also, all the additional services( like capadoccia tour )they provide are much more cheap than any other way.

Hotel is very good value for money. The location is really close to main attraction in sultanahmet area. The staff also very friendly, they give me many advice. And they also let me check in early when i arrive in istanbul in the morning. I really have a pleasant stay while i stay there.

We stayed in few hotels in Istanbul and Basileus was the best. The room was spacious and the bed was very firm and comfortable. Unlike other hotels that has a beautiful terrace as breakfast hall, Basilues's was at the basement. However, we didn't feel it is a big problem. Breakfast was very delicious and wide range of choices.

We stayed here for a couple nights while looking around Istanbul for the first time. It's hard to imagine a more perfect location. The staff was friendly and helpful, the room a bit small (but who's going to sit in their room all day when you're in the middle of the old city of Istanbul!), though it was clean and cozy with everything we needed. The breakfast is down th...

In my 19 day trip to Turkey I stayed 3 times back and forth in Casa Mia, and each time Ramazan-- the hotel staff, upgraded our room to a much better room with no additional cost! He was superhelpful too with giving us tips and where to go around Istanbul. The only downside is the location where we have to walk downhill from the nearest Tram, and its a busy neighborhoo...

Great place to stay and do recommend to anybody and with good location to see Avcilar or to go Istanbul. Clean place with excellent staff and good breakfast and served after breakfast time - we were late to get up for it. internet works good and Thank You amigos. See you next time.

No doubt it's the best hostel I ever lived, all kf the staff are so nice, they helped me a lot, as a girl who travels alone, I felt safe here, clean room and bathroom, also the breakfast is good, especially the beautiful view at the roof, you can see the whole Istanbul. Fall in love with the view the first sight. Besides, it's very convenient to go to the places of int...

The basic budget hotel in Taksim areas are different and it is up to the hotel owner. Most hotel owners will charge or ban your friends to board in the same room. But this hotel does not mind and staff in reception will only record the details of your friends for security purposes. So, i most recommend to who's has a lot of Turkish friends..

This place was awesome. My flight out was at 6am so I stayed here for the night before my flight. From the taxi through check in to the room was five minutes total. The hotel was affordable, clean, and the staff were all great. There is a restaurant, gym, and laundry room in the basement. Also, if you want to go somewhere, there's a big mall down the street with r...

I have been travel to Istanbul 3 @ 4 times a year. Just Inn Hotel is a very highly recommended hotel for whoever coming to istanbul. Their service, management, location are all perfect! Food? You cannot expect much as this is not a 5 star hotel but they have a very good choices of bfast menu! Tq so much to mr ahmet & staffs. Highly recommended!

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The location was walking distance to all the must-see spots as well as public transportation. Getting to and from the airport was easy. The restaurant across the street had great food and the waiters were friendly (mostly to the ladies walking by). The room was small, but perfect for those not picky and not wanting to spend time in th...

Walking distance to most of the sights, and the tram is right at the corner. Great breakfast and lots of nearby restaurants & grocery store right next door. Great & very helpful staff. Very clean. Would definitely stay again next time we come to Istanbul.

The Doubletree Sikerci is very centrally located in the old town of Istanbul, virtually next door to major sights like Topkapi Palace and Hagia Sofia. Both can be reached by a max 5 minute walk, as well as the ferry pier Eminönü and the Galata Bridge with its many Balik (fish) restaurants and stands. Well connected also to Tram line T1 (< 3 Min) and Marmaray subway (st...

Everything was amazing. The staff were helpful and diligent, the rooms were beautiful and well furnished, the breakfast was varied and delicious! To nitpick, the location was not very good, very far from all touristic attractions but if you need a good place to relax in Istanbul this is a great choice. Another small nitpick, the pool for kids was a bit cold for my baby...

Positives: The location is fantastic, in the heart of Taksim! Walking distance to Metro & main shopping hub. The room was relatively quiet considering facing major road. The breakfast was good & what you expect from a Turkish operated hotel. The staff (check-in man) (conceirge) were all very helpful & respectful Negative: The occasional smoke smell in foyer. Overa...

I have been to Istanbul many times and I tried many hotel . There is no one of them like cvk It's the best hotel in entire Istanbul Location is perfect. 2 steps and you are in istiklal road They have amazing staff and they are helpful and they know English I recommend anyone to go to Istanbul to stay in this hotel only

At first, when I checked in, while at the lobby I got the wrong impression of the hotel, the lobby is perhaps the weakest point of the hotel, other than that I definately know, when I return To Istanbul, this is my Hotel. The location is 3 minutes walk to Taksim, airport bus. We walked to the grand Bazaar, perhaps 20 minutes. Great money value.

My wife and our young son were there for only a few days so we wanted to stay somewhere central. Hotel Lady Diana was a 5 - 10 min walk from the main attractions (Blue Mosque / Hagia Sophia / Cistern / Bazaar). Rooms were comfortable, relatively modern and the staff were very friendly. The view from the restaurant at the top is breathtaking, you can literally plan t...

After reading the great reviews, I decided to treat myself to a couple of nights at this hotel at the beginning of my trip as I knew how jet lagged i'd be travelling from Australia. And I'm so glad I did. I love this hotel! If ambience is important to you, this hotel offers the best of old world turkish charm coupled with a modern aesthetic - a bit like Istanbul itself...

we booked this hotel with business purposes in mind, we had several business meetings arranged in and around istanbul. from the hotel there was easy access to most busiess districts around the airport area. getting taxis at the hotel was easy. the hotel also offers a great shuttle bus service to most areas in istanbul, so sightseeing was easy. only point to be aware of...

I have to thank all the staff including the reception Mrs. Müge, Gürsoy, Kürşad, Muzaffer, Nazlı for her excellent breakfast service, Mrs. İlknur for the exquisite food, their Turkish legendary natural hospitality and Mr.Kerem, the manager and owner for his simplicity and relentless presence and overall care. Room is always clean. The location is strategic. My wife and...

I stayed in Enderun hotel with my family (6 people) during August 2018. We arrived at around 1 o’clock in the morning. We were provided with an airport shuttle free of charge, within 15 minutes. At the hotel there was someone (unfortunately I don’t know his name) help us with the luggage and guide us to the rooms. The hotel was clean, had comfortable beds and a good l...

This was my first visit to Istanbul and everyone at Hotel Bosfora was extremely helpful with their advice on getting around the city, tips on things to do in 2 short days. Location is great and accommodations were great as expected. Will definitely book at this hotel when visiting Istanbul again.

Considering it's great position so close to all the must see sites in Istanbul I think it's great value for money. We have stayed there twice now and it will be my first choice on my next trip to Istanbul. It's family run atmosphere makes for a really pleasant stay.

We booked Misafir as our hotel in Istanbul where we were spending our honeymoon. The hotel is easy to find and is very close to the busy Istiklal Rd which is lined up with shopws and restaurants. We were pleasantly surprised when the hotel upgraded our room to the premier one. The room was really big, spacious and comfortable. It was also well maintaned. The hotel staf...

Great staff , great rooms and great location . Roof terrace with stunning views . I stay at this hotel very often on my way thru Istanbul, I find it suits my my needs and is comfortable. I guess you could rate it 5 star for the area, though is lacking a few of the finer details of a true 5 star hotel, only minor though. The staff are always pleasant and restaurant is good, with a nice selection of local and imported wines available. Rooms are clean,...

Awesome hotel, amazing staff. The hotel location was excellent we can walk to Taksim Square in five minutes. The Breakfast was really delicious and renewed daily. Cleanness was at the top levels. For sure I'll stay in this hotel again when visiting Istanbul. Thank You!

the hotel is quiet and peaceful, it's environment really make me and my family with 4 kids slept well after a tiring journey from a 3 days 2 night from cappadocia and another three days and two nights of full day tour trip at west side of istanbul. it's location is around 5 minute drive from the shopping mall and it serves well for last minute shopping for traveller li...

Hotel decor seemed a bit bland and location slightly far from vibrant downtown...perfect for business travellers though....but you can not fault Fairmont for quality of service and comfort. Spacious room with incredible views....amazing spa and dining options...I had a very relaxing stay...which is what I expected....so well done Fairmont.

In general it would be good having a hotel on the other side of the Galata bridge, but on the other side that area I guess is very loud. The Double Tree is not located in the middle of all the hotspots but the tram station is just across the road and with this tram you can reach all sights and hotspots convenient and cheap (unfortunately the tram is not working too lon...

The cool breeze from the Bosphorus to your room is so refreshing and you will not find I other hotel in Istanbul with this close view. Discover the Wonders of Istanbul Turkey
Steeped in history and brimming with culture, Istanbul is a city that captivates every traveler. Once the capital of empires, its streets echo with stories from the Byzantine and Ottoman periods, creating a rich tapestry of experiences waiting to be explored. From the majestic Hagia Sophia to the intricate designs of the Blue Mosque, the city is a showcase of architectural marvels that reflect its storied past. As you wander through the historic Sultanahmet District, the vibrant colors of the local bazaars and the aroma of Turkish delights will envelop you, enticing you to discover more.
Istanbul’s allure goes beyond its historical sites. The city is a vibrant hub of art, music, and culinary delights. Visitors can indulge in traditional Turkish dishes, sip on aromatic tea, or enjoy the lively atmosphere of street performances. The juxtaposition of ancient traditions with modern influences creates a unique cultural landscape, making each corner of the city an adventure waiting to unfold. Whether you’re exploring the bustling streets of Taksim or taking a leisurely stroll along the Bosphorus, the charm of Istanbul is undeniable.
With its stunning landscapes, from the shimmering waters of the Bosphorus to the lush parks scattered throughout the city, Istanbul offers a perfect blend of urban and natural beauty. The iconic skyline, dotted with minarets and palaces, provides a picturesque backdrop for every moment. As the sun sets, the city transforms into a magical realm, inviting you to experience its nightlife and vibrant social scene. Istanbul is not just a destination; it’s an experience that lingers long after you leave.
Best Times to Experience Istanbul's Magic
Timing is everything when planning a trip to Istanbul. The city experiences a diverse climate, making certain seasons more appealing than others. The spring months of April to June are particularly enchanting, as the weather is mild, and the city blossoms with colorful flowers. This period also marks the beginning of several local festivals, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the culture and traditions of Istanbul. Autumn, from September to November, offers a similar charm with its warm temperatures and fewer crowds, making it an ideal time for sightseeing.
Summer can be quite hot and crowded, especially in July and August, when tourists flock to the city. Essential Travel Tips for Navigating Istanbul
Traveling to Istanbul can be an exhilarating experience, but being prepared can enhance your adventure. Understanding cultural etiquette is crucial; for instance, when visiting mosques, it’s respectful to dress modestly. Women should cover their heads, while men should wear long pants. Learning a few basic phrases in Turkish can also go a long way in connecting with locals, who appreciate the effort. Simple greetings such as Merhaba (hello) and Teşekkür ederim (thank you) can open doors to friendly interactions.
When packing for your trip, consider the diverse activities you’ll engage in. Comfortable walking shoes are a must, as exploring Istanbul often involves navigating cobblestone streets and steep hills. A reusable water bottle is also handy, especially during warmer months, as staying hydrated is essential. Don’t forget to include a lightweight scarf or shawl, which can be useful for covering up when visiting religious sites.
Another essential tip is to familiarize yourself with the local currency, the Turkish Lira. While many places accept credit cards, it’s advisable to carry some cash for small purchases or in markets. Be mindful of your belongings in crowded areas, as pickpocketing can occur. Lastly, downloading a translation app can help bridge any language gaps and make your experience smoother.
