Izmir hotels & places to stay

I stayed in the hostel and had a great stay. Clean room and bathroom with towels and hot water provided. Located right in town walking distance to many tourist sites or if you prefer it is close to where you can catch a mini bus to the sites, and even on to the next town. The best part of this stay was the staff. They all treat you as family. I arrived late at night with no options for food and their family offered me some of their own food they had during dinner. The owners son even offered to guide me to Izmir via train as he was going that same way. There are too many acts of hospitality to list actually. I would highly recommend this hostel to any traveler !

I liked my stay at Nicea Hotel! I arrived near midnight and they waited for me. I took the free Global Atlas shuttle from Izmir airport to Selcuk and the walk from the drop off point to Nicea Hotel was short and easy to navigate. This was a good thing considering I brought a 30-kls baggage and a back pack! I was surprised to see a 2-bed room when I booked a single economy room so it was a plus as I put the 2 beds together, making it more comfortable. The bathroom was clean and the split type aircon was working great! The only down-side is there was no lift so I carried my bags to Level 1 but not a big issue. The hotel facilities are basic, breakfast is great (buffet of basic breakfast items: bread, lots of spread options, salamis, lots of cheese). I recommend staying at Nicea Hotel - more specially if you are a solo and budget traveler, and loves to stay at a home-style, friendly hotel. :) Also, they assist you on tours and they gave me a rundown of the sites around Selcuk!

This pansyion is a super simple and clean place ran by a nice family. The owner is this sweet little lady who will help you with booking tours and moving on to your next destination within moments from asking. If you're lucky enough, make sure you accept her unexpected invitation to take you to her pool in the nearby mountains in the afternoon! She just had a nice new place built there (her personal home with 2 guest rooms), complete with an infinity pool looking over orange and olive groves. I loved it, as it was so hot and nice to cool off. For a small fee, she will also serve you an amazing 5 course home-cooked meal after your swim, to enjoy with the view once more. Going with her to the pool turned out to be one of me and my wife's highlights in our trip to this area. It was some of the best food that we ate in all of Turkey. The hotel in Selcuk (Vardar Pension) is a perfect stay if you plan to see Ephesus. The breakfast is Turkish style and good. My wife and I took a tour a fair priced tour, which picked us up from the hotel. We also loved walking around Selcuk and enjoying the nearby sites, local restaurants and cafes there.

While i was seachring for a hotel i found this hotel and after i read the reviews I decided to book it and I am so happy about my decision.. I booked the hotel for 3 nights but I feel so comfortable that i extended my stay for 5 more days.. If you expect a LUXURIOUS hotel forget it but if you want a stay where you feel like home then don't wait to book it. The rooms are clean and with a balcony and you have a TV and a AC (Clima) and they have a big terrace with a lot of sofas where you can seat and chill.. The breakfast and dinner are served open buffet outside at the terrace and the tables are all in shadow. Thank you again yayla hotel and I will come back again but next time with more time in my luggage. Last but not least special greetings to the manager and a promise to him.. next time i will teach you how to swim :-)

This cute hotel felt like a guesthouse and was very welcoming. Our group enjoyed our stay here and especially loved the porch to hang out on and the staff that ran it! Everyone was so kind! Breakfast had a couple of hot choices like eggs and sausage, lots of olives, bread, and tea. It's just a short walk to the main part of Cesme. This is best for someone who can walk easily on stairs and who doesn't mind a smaller room. Laundry was extremely affordable here and we were so thankful for the service!

This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast buffet excellent. Bed comfortable and shower worked well. I have given location as excellent and it is very near Basmane train station and service bus area.. I like the street it is on, which although can be noisy, since it is a small market type shopping area which follows down to the main Konak market area , it is full of Izmir character. Just 15 minute walk away is the Radio and Democratic museum. Small but very interesting.

Good sized room, giant bed, very clean, remarkably quiet considering its location in the middle of Izmir, and professionally run. A bit bland but then again it is part of a chain. The breakfast (free with our booking) was excellent - a huge choice including fresh fruit, delicious yogurt, juices, filter coffee rather than the dreadful and all-too-common Nescafe instant, eggs, cheese, salads, olives, and probably some meaty things (that we don't eat). Very good value for money.

LOVED this place! We were a group of three and all thought this was the best place we stayed on our road trip around Turkey. The hotel itself is very clean, the rooms are decorated wonderfully with an ottoman feel. The hosts are superior, going out of their way to make sure our stay was comfortable. I would return for the homemade breakfast alone, it was a spread of homemade jams, fresh french toast, cheese, tomato bread, cereals, and more. Make sure to stay here if you are in the area.

Free parking place, good breakfast,excellent wi-fi signal, and the room though a bit small (we chose the cheapest price) is so well fitted with evertything nad space was greatly used. So we felt we were in a higher category room. The personnel is extremely helpful and flexible with check out time. Great choice of hotel in Izmir, if you travel by car you cannot miss this one

Was an good stay , just one night .The area is however difficult to park as the road in front was full of cars on both sides of the road , seems like a busy business area by day time .The hotel has a parking at the back which was quite okay but not so convenient .Roads are small and one way-ish , difficult to navigate .To go to city , best to take TAXI , as Izmir is very crowded and especially if you going to bazaar , don't drive

The Akropolis was recommended to me by some travellers I met on the road and I was very happy with the recommendation. I booked a single room and was given a choice of two rooms. For a single traveller, the rooms were spacious and clean but what I loved most of all was there were several areas where I could relax after a day of sight-seeing. The room had a separate 'sitting' room (or a separate bedroom with a second bed), and a sunny terrace. But for me, what I enjoyed most about staying at the Akropolis was the lovely woman who works there (and has done so for the last 8 years apparently). She couldn't speak much English and I couldn't speak Turkish but we still managed to communicate and have a laugh. She brought me cups of tea when I was relaxing on the my terrace, and twice made me a light and tasty lunch when I returned from visiting the sites. She prepared an huge Turkish breakfast and brought me 2nd and 3rd cups of coffee when I finished the one I had. The hotel is very handy to the Akroplis, and a short walk to town and the other sites. After 2 1/2 weeks in Turkey, this has ended up being my favourite place to stay so far. The room and bathroom are clean, the water hot and strong (although there was a glitch with it one day, but was soon sorted). The Wifi worked well, too. I'd happily stay there again if I ever come back.

I took the Havas Bus airport transfer from Izmir airport in the very early morning. The bus made a stop quite near to the hotel so it is within 5 mins walk. They allowed me to check in immediately and have breakfast. I guess they have upgraded my room as well but unfortunately my room smelled terribly cigarettes & they cannot change a room for me. The corridor on my floor smell cigarette as well. The male manager speak the best English compared to his female colleagues. The lady in the afternoon shift did not recommend much about what I can do during a day in Izmir

It made our trip to Selcuk perfect. The location is quite convenient,5 mins' walk to Basilica and 10 mins' to the bus station and train station where you could easily access to the small towns nearby, such as Kusadasi, Sirince and Tire within 30 mins and to Izmir Airport within 1 hour. Also, you could easily find any types of restaurants which suit your taste in the neighborhood. While we stayed, the owner's family visited him. We had some home made food and spend the family time with warm-hearted Turkish people.You could enjoy the sunshine during breakfast in the garden and sit before the stove to have a cup of tea in the evening. Amazon Antique makes our Selcuk trip unforgettable.

My sons and I had a wonderful time at Ali Baba's. Ali and his staff were kind and helpful, above and beyond the call of duty. Ali took us to Ephesus and even to Izmir to catch a flight. We enjoyed the food all three mornings and ate all three dinners there as well. The housekeeper did our laundry and kept our rooms spic and span. We also enjoyed the rug sales presentation. We would definitely stay there again.
