Where to stay in Jiangsu Province
Jiangsu Province hotels & accommodations
nanjing is not the easiest city to get around (as compared to say shanghai or beijing), but the jinling is an oasis of civility in a city that is not as quite. staff were very friendly and helpful, the refurb on the rooms is very modern and clean, and they even have their own loyalty program (apparently there are several jinling properties in jiangsu). the location i...
I recommend the hotel. It is a very good value, at least the low price I paid. When a very credible breakfast is thrown in it is even better. Also, it is just off a very large pedestrian shopping/restaurant area. Many staff tried their best to be helpful. Some were more proficient in Englih than others. The "independent" tour desk was very poor. The man who was in char...
Excellent hotel....one of the best ones of the Shangri-La group. Room was large and comfortable....Had club room...best to get breakfast there, as the breakfast in the main area was not so good....food was cold....this was the only downside of the stay. Not much in the area for looking for other food outlets, shopping. But very good hotel.
I arrived in Nanjing from Beijing late close to midnight and had booked the hotel online with Agoda. I didnt know exactly where it was but was surprised to find it just a short walking distance from the airport exit still on airport property. The reception area is very big and yes this hotel is a very modern experience so expect the price of things to be higher than no...

Hotel is well located at the famous at the famous Shantang Street where you can get a lot of good foods and nice shopping. Beautiful property, the rooms are well appointed and the views form their main bar and lobby are impressive.Their restaurant options are excellent. Everything about this hotel is what you'd expect from Novotel. I spent an enjoyable six nights and above everything else wish to praise the staff for their assistance to my needs, a first time traveler to Suzhou. Special mention to Victor on the Front Desk and Miss Vivian in the breakfast restaurant. My room was spotless; the pool crystal clear, breakfast buffet more ...
A very new, modern, and stylish hotel in a very good location (there's a mall and supermarket right below). Excellent view in the topmost-floor breakfast place, spacious and well-designed rooms, great high-speed wifi access. The only hassle is the need for an elevator change when going from the ground floor to the hotel rooms (need to change elevator at the hotel lobby...
I travel to China regularly and this is the first time in Changzou. Absolutely the best hotel I have stayed at in China, room was great and restaurant and bar was excellent. Staff were helpful. Highly recommended. Tip-ask for a Parkview room when you check in. Also, turn left out of the hotel there is a small shopping mall and supermarket.
Great place to stay if you need to be in the area for business. It's right next to the Expo Center. The room was large and clean, with exception of some stains on the rug. The staff speaks very little English, but enough to assist with simple requests like calling a taxi. However, the hotel is far away from the city center, so it's not the best option for tourists. Als...
This is the best hotel i have stayed in China. Room was spacious , clean and sophisticated. Very friendly and polite staffs. 5 minutes away from Shan Tang street and plenty of food options at night ( Plenty of steamboat/spicy hotpot). Overall for the price we paid , couldn't find anything to complaint . MRT is only 2 minutes walk from the hotel and you can pretty much...
Impressive building and full of historical meaning. Room was comfortable and I had no problem at all with the state of furniture and carpeting and so on. Everything was good. The free entrance into the Banmen garden was a plus point. Our room view in the morning was unbeatable (garden, pagoda, you name it!). Location was not very near the old city, but only a short tax...
Nikko offered me the best hotel room experience in Suzhou. I like this place and will definitely come back.
booked a two-beds room with kitchen. clean, quite, and good for travel with kids. a little bit far away from city center, nice choice for ones drive by themselves. very good breakfast. helpful hotel staff.
The Sofitel was the nicest hotel I stayed at in 6 months of staying at five-star hotels across China. The location was close to shops and restaurants, the bathroom was bigger than some other five-star hotel bedrooms, and the concierge is extremely helpful accomodating bookings and offering advice.
The hotel was awesome. The room was big and spacious, clean and the hotel shares building with a mall, so it's easy to do any of your shopping, its located close to several interesting sights aswell. the room came with a kitchen (not equipped), so for longer stays it would be perfect. I will admit that it is closer to a kind of an apartment then a hotel, lacking perh...
Leaving Los Angeles for Nanjing, during which I had spent one night in Seoul Airport Hotel, I thought I would book a nice hotel for relaxation. My room is located on 60th floor, earning great view of Nanjing; it was raining during my stay there, literally heavy rain that aroused so much memory, but sadly I couldn't see anything clear but fog thanks to typical Chinese a...
It is a newly opened hotel. Facilities, furnituers, everything is new a clean. Room is spacey, window view of Yangzi River is beauty, services are good. I reserved a double room, I changed to a singel big bed room when I checking in without any additional charge. It is also quiet for it locates at the side of river. Beside all, room rate is good for a world famous 5 st...
Good location with convenient access to metro station, strategically located in the nice and organized industrial park. Modern architecture and the room is great and cozy. Absolutely five stars hotel. Great service, great stuff, very friendly people in reception. Room clean, new, good smelling, bathroom very clean. One of the best breakfast ever in hotel and trust me, I know what I am talking about. Location in the middle of the beautiful Nanjing town. If you visit Nanjing, you should visit this hotel.
In Hyatt Regency Suzhou, there is a very strict guy who works inside the man's locker room & swimming pool. He does his job very well. He does never let the people who don't follow the duty of the guests: "after the shower, with the slipper, wearing the swimming cap"- simple global manner whoever uses the swimming pool pf the hotel. This hotel is located very near the high-speed railway station, which makes it very convenient for a business traveller. Breakfast buffet was good, but nothing special due to a lack of international food on offer - mostly they served local asian food. However, internet was super-fast and the interior of the rooms is very nice and spacey. Plus, the bathrooms are just br...
It is close from the factory that i visit, so I always use this hotel. Not right in the middle of the city, it was better for me to travel to airport and the offices in the industrial area. Best thing was the free wireless, high speed connection from my room. So convenient for work, trip planning and entertainment. Although sometimes they slowly understand my request...
The service was excellent throughout the hotel (from concierge to reception to restaurant). In fact, it has the best service of all hotels I have stay in China before. The location is good for business traveller which is less than 10 mins taxi ride from city centre. The hotel area is located in one of the most upclass area in Suzhou and you can find handful of restaura...
Many postive things could be said about the location and the cleanliness of the hotel. But I like to take this opportunity to commend the staff. I had a small unattended cut on my knuckles. While going through the checking-in process, one member of the staff noticed my cut and went on to tend to it. Brought out the first aid kit, nurse it and passed me additional handi...
Very close to the speed train railway. We came from Shanghai and it was a 9 minute cab ride to this hotel. Staff was really nice and helped as much as they could. Unfortunately room service wasn't 24hrs and the hot tubs / jacuzzi weren't working... However our overall stay was perfect. We came to go see the big buddah and that's 50 min. cab drive. We didn't mind becaus...
It is really worth to stay at this hotel with reasonable and consider cheap as compare to others 5 star hotel. The room is spacios and clean. The staff are freindly and responsive to our request and directions to go to the attractions. Do ask from the reception if you need a map. Convenient to the tourist spots where the Guan Qian Jie is just within walking distance. A...
This hotel is actually meant for families with (small) children. We have never seen anywhere in the world so far, a hotel with such facilities for the kids , it is almost incredible ! There is nothing what you can think of, that is missing to please the little ones, also in the restaurant. The personnel is exceptionally friendly and helpful , unfortunately almost nobo...
I've stayed in quite a few Western-owned five-star hotels in China, so I have an idea what to expect, and the Xinhua Media GDH falls far short of what it bills itself as. First of all, I should say that the service is really good. For instance, when we requested replacement towels, they were there in two minutes. But beyond that... everything looked nice, but was shodd...
Cheap places to stay in Jiangsu Province
You get what you pay for BUT here you get a very nice/helpful/honest owner who speaks good English (I don’t think her parents speak any though) and will help you in any way she can – that can be worth a lot if you DON’T speak Chinese. The location is also good as it’s a couple of minutes’ walk from the nearest metro station – just look for a door leading to stairs righ...
The place would be actually nice except for the locals who live there. The room was taken over by their stuff. A general problem in China which I am tired of. They should at least keep a room available for travelers if they like to keep their status of international youth hostel and not mix travelers with people who live there and go to work, study or whatever
Great experience! I booked a single room and got a free upgrade to a double. The location was the biggest selling point to me - it is right next to Beisita Station (great if you are dragging luggage with you), and only a station away from the Suzhou Railway Station. Humble Administrator, Lion Grove, and Guanqian Street are all within walkable distance but if you are la...
The location was good for where we were heading (Wuxi Sports Center 无锡新体育中心), and it was pretty easy to get places from there by bus or walking. As you walk into the courtyard to get to the hostel, it looks shady and there is currently construction going on, but the hostel itself is very nice and the construction wasn’t ongoing at night. The staff was very friendly a...
I stayed for 19 nights. I am a disabled person using canes, who can cope with shared bathrooms etc. (with some effort). -The staff is extremely helpful and friendly! -The location on Pingjiang Lu/平江路 is excellent, very close to 拙政園。You can walk a few minutes to 大新橋巷 to an excellent tea house. If you leave 平江路 , which is super touristic, you can quickly get to small,...
There was hair dryer in the bathroom for four beds dorminatory. I've comfortable sleep where room is silent. The staff is helpful to provide me information I requested. There was books on the bookshelf in the comfort dining area, next to the reception counter. The hostel location is next to a mango drink stall. I dislike the smell from the bathroom, hope it can be mo...
very nice hosts and fun fellow travellers. To use the lift will be very tricky if you try at any rush hour.
I booked the private room, it's just tiny room with 1 bunk bed,1 small sofa, 2 pair of shoe, share bathroom, no heater (very clod tonight in mid November), this hostel is in 10floor at the buildingA3, hard to find. You can ask the security under the building (but he can't speak english, send him an address) , However, i think it's not good value and very expensive.
it's very low price so do not expect free paper slippers, toothpaste or toothbrush. but you can always purchase from vending machine at the lobby. blanket is available upon request. location is near city centre but surrounding is quiet. bus station is just in front of hotel, offering almost every attraction by a single bus journey. to the right on the street lines a ...
This was a great hotel for staying at overnight. The room was clean and comfortable and very quiet. It probably would be too small for a couple, but it was great for me. I just needed a place to sleep, a shower and an internet connection.
I stayed two nights in the cheapest room, a single bed that could fit one comfortably or two in a squeeze. The window facing the road was open and allowed some dried leaves to blow onto the otherwise clean sheets. When the window was closed, the road noise was audible, but minimum. I did not use the air conditioning while there. The hot water in the shower worked well,...
Generally it's a nice and comfortable pleace to stay. It's convenient to go for shopping and travelling. Great food and cheap. People are nice and friendly.
Haimen is only accessible by bus, making this a great location. Price is on the cheap side, but the room I had was clean and comfortable. The only drawback is there isnt anything by way of English for foreign travelers.
Good location. Walking distance to the train station. Near by supermarket and underground street. Staff is nice but the room is kind of dated.
The hotel is well located just a short walk from the bus station and the beautiful river park. Hotel is small, with pleasant staff and a decent breakfast spread. Great place for a traveler short on time and on a limited budget
Good price, but far away from main Nanjing. There is, however, a metro station nearby (10-15 minutes by foot). For the unexperienced traveler in China: Be prepared, nobody speaks English there (like everywhere).
Hotel located at a very convenient place, near to a bus station (can easily take bus to other tourist spot or train station) and also within a walking distance (5-10 mins) can reach the shopping area (Guan Qian Jie). The hotel room is not big, but clean and comfortable. The environment is very quite, not crowded with people, good for relaxing.
Maybe due to the strong winter those days, the heater is not able to provide a warm room condition.
It's very near of Jiangsu University , If you want to visit JU then right hotel for you . It's not bad .
just about 200 mtr walking from Shilu subway stop. There are 24hours open McD and KFC on the left and right side
The front desk staff very helpful and friendly. The hotel itself is adequate if you just need a clean hotel for a night's sleep.
Good
The list prices were higher than when booking online, and I could not negotiate them on-site. Luckily they had a good wifi.
I booked at this hotel thinking I had secured a place to stay. But when I arrived they rejected me. They didn't even speak English. I FOUND MYSELF IN THE STREET AT 12AM BECAUSE AN AGODA.COM MISTAKE. This hotel is in a dark street, it has a awful reception area. Honestly I've got scared when I arrived there. BE AWARE: THIS IS A CHAIN OF HOTELS AN ALL ARE WRONGLY LISTEST...
staff courteous. place is quite near the place of interest.
Pros: kind smiling happy staff, location in the center, close to everything. Clean sheets and towels, clean bathroom and room, smelled good. Cons: too expensive for the facility standard ( National holiday price always nuts) building is old and worn out. Carpet in hallways should have been replaced 10 years ago.. stairwell is filthy. Room had wear and tear. Beside the ...
Staff very courteous n honest. Left bag in toilet n staff kept it n returned to me.
We were there in the Labor holiday so the hard to find a place to stay. As we got this place with quite a good deal on price, location, although everything is old and smelly, but bathroom is clean enough.
Near shopping places, restaurants, and bus stops. Very helpful receptionists, especially Lu Na who kindly assist me to buy tickets online. Comfortable bed and clean room at an affordable price. Highly recommended for budget concious travellers.
It was really good, every taxi driver knew the hotel without problem and it's 15 mins from the bus station and 25 mins from the train station, all by cab.

Highly recommended. Location: It is super close to Xinjiekou metro (5 min walk i assume) and Walmart is right across the hotel where you can buy groceries and some souvenirs. Staff: It is truly rare to find a hotel with well-trained staff and the staff was impressive. He was professional and knew what he was doing. I had to wait for like 15 minutes when checking ou...
The check in staff were excellent, as were the restaurant and door/concierge staff. The hotel is located very close to Lihu so if that is what you are looking for it is a great location. A little far from New Town if that is what you prefer. The gym and pool facilities were not as the website indicated and I confess to finding them disappointing. Not 5 star cleanliness...
it is good in general , althought we stayed a non smoking room ( stated like that ) the smell was not good I thought someone violate the rule. Breakfast can be more western oriented such as having Cheese and some black tea bags.
Good services and helpfull staff. We left bag when depart from hotel, the staff helped us by sending it to shanghai by post. Oriental dan western breakfast. Location near to Wanda Mall (around rmb 10 by taxi) and Dinosaurs Land (aroubd rmb 25 by taxi). We'll book this hotel again in next visit..recommended hotel !
Keeping in mind a very badly managed and maintained this chain's property near Beijing airport, I was really concerned booking this particular hotel. What a pleasant surprise! Reserved a room there minutes before arrival, it was a hard day and the hotel offered just everything I needed at that moment: fast check in, great room with super comfy bed and an amazing breakf...
Book this only if you need to be in Pukou District. A better hotel in Pukou area. Not convenient if you want to be in City area like XinjieKou.
I love this hotel. Nice cozy rooms and spacious. Hotel staff are friendly and thoughtful. The location may not be that good but it is alright.
Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Rooms are large, bathroom is spotless and beds are comfortable, the only downside, inescapable in China, is the smell of smoke in the hallways and traces in the room. Staff we friendly, knowledgeable and spoke good English. The fitness centre is well equipped and the bar is nicely presented, but the highlight is the restaur...
Value for money, good location and friendly staff.
Good location, near walking street, nice room design. - Unfortunately for us, the toilet at our room had some problem in the next morning and sank in some odorous water. - The man at the reception tried a little bit too much on selling us a city tour. - The price was quite high, (another 5-star hotel room was only 7x USD per night), however, it might be due to its cl...
We find the hotel quite comfortable ... everything is in good order. However the location of hotel is considered a bit far away from city centre so it isn't convenient for tourist.
Good all-purpose hotel for visitor to Nanjing. Historic hotel, designed by a top architect and opened a year before the Japanese invaded. Low-rise buildings in a garden just offf a major intersection. Comfortable. Prompt and friendly service. Nice Chinese and Western restaurants on the grounds, in a neighborhood with lots of nice places to eat, pleasant rather than fan...
chinese resturant minimum order is 600 CNY for solo, or as they suggest me to eat somewhere else ! spa not really good, cold sauna and not professional therapist, in fact, was disappointed to see in the menu they have adult massage, it's 5 stars hotel !
The fact that it is RIGHT BY the metro made it so easy to get around the city. Staff was very helpful and the room was spotless. Being city center, the price was very good as well. I'd totally stay here again. Shame I never had the time to play pingpong while there.
i came from the 5 star hotel best western in qinhuangdao, which were absolute horrible, to this lovely only "4 star hotel" and what an experience. service were absolutely in world class, every information in english and the most of the staff spoke english. room, aircondition, cleaning, breakfast and food too. absolute a perfect hotel
i have encountered problem when checked in this hotel as they did not have my booking under Agoda. It was very late at night, almost 10pm and i just wanted to go to take shower and bed sooner. I showed them the receipt and booking information, and they still need to call and check. I suggested them let me go to the room first since I have to pay guarantee anyway, and t...
Location was good for stroll in the evening, room was very nice and comfortable. Breakfast variety was good, overall very nice experience to stay in this hotel. Might be difficult to find another hotel within this price range and expect it to be better than this hotel
The staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel is clean and has a very modern minimalist design which gives you a very peaceful feel.
The hotel was a bit tricky to find and a bit inconveniently located making any going out a bit of an extra hassle. and there the list of complaints stop. the hotel was clean the room was incredible same with the bed, the hotel also have a superb little garden which if you enjoy nature will give you the most wonderful view, in the few interactions I had with the staff t...
The room is new and clean. The hotel staffs are friendly. Located in the heart of Taicang city. Plenty of shopping malls and restaurants within walking distance. Good breakfast but same everyday. Public taxi did not charge by meter when we wanted to travel to Shanghai city. At last, we ended up travel to Shanghai by hotel's taxi costed RMB500. Will choose the same hote...
I love this hotel very much because everything inside it is in high-end, but I'm a little disappointment about its location. It will be not very convenient if you have no private car. It takes you 15min drive to downtown via freeway and cost 5 RMB fee. Anyway, it's a great hotel in the local place.
This place was amazing. We are a group of medical students that came to Suzhou for a weekend trip. This apartment was so beautiful, great service and housekeeping, secure, nearby everything, including a fun Japanese street. Definitely recommend it if you want an authentic Chinese city feel.

This hotel is very well-located right about a subway station, which meant it was very convenient to get around using the fast and cheap metro network, although staff were able to get me taxis quite quickly when I needed that. A little more than we would usually spend on a hotel but totally worth it! It was our second stay and we’ll definitely be back. Enough can’t be said about the service we received and the facilities are luxurious with a quirky twist which we really enjoyed.
