The Shangri-La in Qingtao is part old tower part new tower. I booked through Agoda, so I assume the hotel immediately puts all the OTA bookings in the old tower. The rooms were clean, fine, but dated, and didn't feel 5-Star. This half felt 4-Star. The front desk staff were very friendly and made me feel welcome. The lobby lounge staff were friendly too, but the service was very slow and not attentive. Also the lobby band was terrible. Way too loud (this is not a rock concert venue, turn it down, WAY down) and not fun. I didn't try the breakfast, but I did check out the pool and workout facility, both were very nice and well maintained. The tennis court was nice too. I tried to look at a room in the other tower but was told no rooms were available to show, which I find odd, as I went during the turnover time between check out and check in. I think they didn't want me to see what I was missing out on, staying in the old section of the hotel. For the money, new side only. Otherwise, pass.

I had a great time in the Sea view garden hotel. All I want to say is “Thank you!” Their service is absolutely superior to any other hotels I’ve visited! -Free Airport Pick Up: You can get to the hotel if you call n book the hotel shuttle bus in advance. -Staff: All staff was so friendly and tried to figure out my problem. There was a problem with my Chinese visa right before boarding, so I missed my flight to Qingdao on my first day of trip. I called the Sea view garden hotel, saying that I aint be there on time I was supposed to be. Peter said “No problem!” When I got there the following day, He already rearranged my reservation. I didn’ have to explain and ask for anything about it. I really appreciate it. Thank you again. He recommended some shopping districts and a good restaurant called ‘Hai di lao’. u guys better try it, taste so good. -Breakfast: nice enough, but mostly Chinese food. I wish they had some more Italian foods. It would have been better. Well, I enjoyed a lot, tho. Coffee was the best in breakfast. It comes with lots of crema. -Executive lounge: I was lil bit disappointed wit this lounge. Some finger foods are up there, but all dried. It would be better if the lounge has a just one coffeemaker instead of dried bagels and fruits. Nth is really special about the lounge, but spacious. -Facility: Awesome. No doubt. -Tip: I put 50 yian on my bed wit Thank you messages, but housecleaner didn take my tip Nobody gets tips even a bellguy. They do their own things as best as they can. I can really tell that u guys are professional. You should be proud of. Qingdao people are so friendly eventho I can’t speak Chinese at all. I was recently so exhausted with my work and this holyday did help recharge my batteries. Special thanks to Peter.

Me and a colleague were visiting Qingdao for work when we decided to stay here. We were pleasantly surprised how nice this place turned out to be. The property is very nice and the staff are very well trained. A special mention to the concierge staff members (Jesse & Justin) at their knowledge of the City, their enthusiasm and willingness to help and English skills. The rooms are very nice as my colleague got a free upgrade to a bigger room. Modern artsy decor, 5 star amenities, complementary minibar drinks are only some of the perks. The breakfast is also very nice with good variety. Will definitely return back.

Arrived after being ripped off for the cost of a taxi from the airport (well over twice the going rate once the taxi driver saw the destination) to find that the Reception staff spoke little or no English. Got settled into my room, which was clean and tidy and well appointed. However I was totally unprepared for the paper-thin walls, smoking of Chinese guests in no-smoking rooms and noise of business men until 4am in the morning. I had no sleep for two nights and after the third night, swallowed my British reserve and went down early to complain. The staff were not very helpful and moved me to another room in the same part of the hotel, which made little difference overall. When my son complained later that day they upgraded me to a room on the sea side (I could not book a room there when I tried) and started to have a great night's sleep. I did feel that I was an oddity as a western woman travelling alone and not really taken seriously by the hotel staff. I also tried to use their postal support, only to be pointed in the general direction of a post office which turned out to be a parcels depot. Again, not very helpful at all. Be aware that everything is charged (not the done thing in western hotels that are purporting to be 5*) so that you pay for water bottles in your room and even the recreational facilities (although they were offering 50% off the sauna!!) Suffice to say that the Chinese who stay do not tend to use the additional facilities and much of it was like a ghost town. The food is adequate and there is a reasonable choice as a non-Chinese person. The evening buffet meal is also really quite good. Overall I think my son had a more useful and accommodating English-speaking staff at the Youth Hostel where he was staying, even though I had the more luxurious surroundings. Would probably not stay again-too many businessmen living it up for the weekend and not enough hospitality and support for travellers

I was in Qingdao due to business and a honeymoon. And that was the BEST CHOICE that I can possibly make. The hotel is a very big property and it sits right next to the very beautifull Silver Beach. As I enter the hotel, the reception greeted us with high enthusiasm and they threat their guess really good so every guest may feel so special. I would like to express my thank you to Ms. OLIVIA, the reception supervisor, her service maybe is one of the best service I can expect from a hotelier. I was so impressed in how she is willing to help me sincerely during my stay. She offered me to buy me my domestic air tickets with her credit card and I can pay her in cash. She also offered to accompany me go to Qingdao market during her off-working day so she can become a translator for us. What an extraordinary service! Also my high praise is to the restaurant of this hotel, Element restaurant provided a very very good buffet dinner and breakfast, very much choice with high quality food. I was also impressed with two of the restaurant manager, who always assisted us that make this restaurant is so special. Over all I had a very2 good experience during my stay, all the interior is luxury as in the picture, cleanliness, service and location is perfect to me, this hotel will be the only hotel I will stay if I come again to Qingdao.

The hotel is located really far from city center but if you have to catch a plane in the morning, staying this hotel could be very nice. It takes about 10 minutes to go there by taxi, and taxi fare will be at around 20 yuan. Whenever i go to qingdao, before one day i leave there, i usually stay here. Room is super big and everything is really nice. And the bar on the first floor is really nice to drink some qingdao bees, and the bartender at the bar is really kind and speaks english fair enough.

golden bay weihai is a grand style 4.5 -5 star hotel, probably the best in this city it is very comfortable with good friendly service. rooms are spacious & no charge for internet & views over the bay are splendid. the hotel is a short taxi ride from down town but taxis are cheap in china. price was very good although hotel is quiet in winter season. overall a good price, good hotel, nice view, good breakfast - nothing to complain about.

The service is on par with 5 star hotels and the facilities are great too. We signed up for Club Intercontinental which is an extra +15% service fees a night--but this granted us breakfast (not just continental), afternoon tea (which was great!) and internet. If paid separately, it would be more than for sure. I wouldn't say this hotel is best value for money since it is pricey, but it is good value since we had a great experience.

I didn't get to experience the hotel because I arrived at midnight, worked all day and wasn't there, and checked out at 5p. Rooms are ok - only internet in the lobby which isn't very convenient. Beds are hard to sleep on. Carpets need cleaning - they're were dirty in areas of the room. Not much English speaking staff which was difficult but they really try their best. It looked like lots of restaurants and businesses in walking distance.

Value for the money.....Close to shopping center. Disappointing....staff only know about 10 English words.....needed aspirin....most hotels can supply at least a couple of tablets...they did not....could not understand what I needed, and then sent me to the wrong area to purchase...yes I know can not get this at Watson's. Also internet is disgusting poor. A few times it was good for about one hour, but after that is cuts out...and not surf multiple sites, and no downloads could be done. Room was great for the money. Food is reasonable for the price, as well as the minibar.

It was the first time we have been to Qingdao and we deciced to book the Lalo because we wanted to relax. This was a very good decision because the Hotel is situated at a very calm Beach with no typical Chinese Tourists running around and making a lot of noise. The pool is very nice. Just one negative point is that we were not allowed to swim in the ocean because it was to dangerous. The people working at the Lalu have all been very nice and helpful. The restaurants have been very good. Breakfast Buffet let no wish open. Just stronger coffee would be appriciated. Overall, fantastic days in the Lalu

I lived in Qufu for 3 years and saw this hotel being built. 7 years later and it's a beautiful place to stay in this historic China town. The Shangrila was very welcoming, clean and the staff very professional. I thought the restaurant was over priced, but that goes hand in hand with a high-class hotel called the Shangrila! If you don't feel like spending a fortune for every meal, there are other options across the street. The bathroom had both a shower and bathtub. Sadly the shower above the shower (rain forest??) would leak cold water on my head while I showered. The shower cap was very important. That was the only issue I faced. The hotel picked me up and took me back to the train station so I didn't have to haggle with taxi drivers. My favorite part was the balcony overlooking the hotel's grounds, a view of the river and the city! I was able to sit outside, sip my coffee and even enjoy the stars! If I had the chance, I would come again.

Le Meridien does it right. It is a fantastic hotel stay in regards to the room and club lounge. But, the extra service touches made this stay stand out amongst the best. The concierge arranged a day trip to Laoshan, which was amazing. The concierge booked taxis for our day outings as well to the brewery and the sea. From check-in, club lounge, concierge to checkout, I can not say how much we enjoyed our stay. The only drawback is that is about a 20 minute taxi drive to the sea attractions (because of traffic), but I would still pick the Le Meridien again, since the sea is only a short taxi drive away.

Perfect location next to coastal promenade in a really beautiful part of Yantai. Adjacent to Yantai Shan Park where many European villas are within the forested grounds. Also close to Chaoyang Street - older area with some good cafes, restaurants and bars. Hotel is well-managed, very clean and friendly. Staff always helpful. Excellent breakfast with large choice of Chinese and western, Generally very good facilities although no swimming pool. Bicycles can be hired free. Reception very efficient at arranging taxis. Reception on arrival and departure also friendly and efficient. Along corridor wallls are photos of historic Yantai and of various international leaders who have stayed during visits to Yantai. Yantai is famed for its apples and every night two were sent to my room. The early town of Yantai is easily explored. Train station with high-speed connections to Beijing, etc is relatively close. Rooms facing sea have wonderful views including sunrise. first class stay

First time staying at this hotel. Surprised with an upgrade room services. Though feel like an old hotel but did not disappoint me with a big and comfortable room. Housekeeping was good and fast with a smile. It will be great that the hotel would invest a gym facility to perfect the facility. Location wise is well situated near places of interest like DA MING HU and TU BAO QUAN and QIAN FO SHAN is quite near with a short public transport ride from QUAN CHENG SQUARE. Big shopping malls is also a stone throw away. In general, this is a great hotel that l will be staying until l find a substitute that matches.

Wow! I wish I had tried this hotel earlier. Because a few days earlier, I had stayed 200 metres away in The Duoyuan hotel which was more expensive and I didn't think as good value for money. The staff spoke English reasonably well here at the Haidu, and were more attentive and efficient. The room was well appointed and clean, a little smaller than next door. But far better value for my money. Afterall I only want a nice and clean place to sleep, relax and bathe. I asked for a "NON smoking" room and was a little disappointed to find 2 ashtrays in the room. Happily there was no evidence of the smell of tobacco or smoke. I will recommend this hotel to my friends and colleagues as my choice when in Qingdao (Huangdao) I will be there again next month and the several more times in the following months. The staff was rude, and when we went to the front counter of the hot springs, they told us to go back to the room and use our 'bubble bath' and not the hot springs that they provide as a service for guests staying there. We said we were guests and showed them our card. Again they asked if we had booked a bubble bath, we said yes. They told us we could use the one in our room for free. When we said we wanted to go into the hot springs, they said we were public visitors and have to pay 200rmb (around 32US dollars). We said we were guests and again they told us we could go back to our room and use the bath for free!!! We asked about the pool, and we were then told we had to pay 188rmb if we wanted to swim in the pool!! How ridiculous.Our spa bath had no hot water until after 5pm. Broken tiles on floor in our room. Hole in spa bath. Terrible customer service. We left after 3 hours and they promised us a refund, just contact Agoda. Now there are saying they did not tell us that. Disgusting

our superior room was upgrade without any additional charges due to fully booked of superior room. the staff was polite & able to provide good service. by the day we check in is evening, when enter the room, found it was not tidy up yet. we found weird, the room was not very messy but the bed was slightly messy, mineral water was drank. so, call to customer service & check. they inform will check with the related dept. within few seconds, they called & informed will come to the room & check. they are quite professional, come with neccesary equipment & request our permission for clean the room immediately & apologize politely. they even send some fruits to us as a token of apologize. we were satisfy with their immediate action. the room was clean, spacious & comfortable. overall, it was quite relax during our stay at dezhou regal kangbo hotel.
